Casterne Hall, Manifold Valley

Casterne Hall, a historic manor house in the Manifold Valley, is said to be haunted by a ‘benign’ ghost. The building dates back to the early 11th century and was restored during the reign of William and Mary. It was home to the Hurt family from the 15th century until just before World War Two and was later repurchased by the family.
