Congleton Road, Monks Heath

On Christmas Eve 1970, a couple travelling along Congleton Road near Monks Heath reported seeing a light-coloured car disappear just ten yards ahead of them. With no side roads nearby and no reports of an accident, the incident has been interpreted as a possible phantom vehicle sighting.
