In 1968, Dorothy Moulton of Lorton Close, Langley, reported violent poltergeist activity in her council house. Furniture was overturned, drawers emptied, and footsteps echoed on the stairs. She and her husband claimed to see black shadows and a misty head on the landing, while a lodger also witnessed the apparition. A priest’s blessing and later visits from mediums failed to stop the disturbances, though one spiritualist sensed a troubled female spirit. By the late 1970s, new tenants said the haunting had ceased, though the house’s reputation endured.
