Marple Hall, Marple

Marple Hall, once home to the Bradshaw family, is linked with several hauntings. The headless ghost of King Charles I is said to walk the terrace overlooking the Goyt, while another tale speaks of Esther Bradshaw, who fell in love with a Royalist soldier. Her plan to save him went awry when a servant drowned him in the river, and her ghost is said to wander the banks in grief. A lady seeking a lost ring, thought to be Mrs. Brabyn, and other spectral figures have also been reported.
