In November 1974, taxi driver Brian Mohan reported a chilling encounter while driving along the A6 through Great Moor after dropping a fare in Whaley Bridge. Glancing in his mirror, he saw an elderly woman sitting silently in the back seat of his cab, though he had picked up no passengers. Her reflection remained visible under both streetlight and shadow, wearing a black coat, white blouse and black bow. When Mohan stopped to confront her, the cab was empty. The vehicle was later abandoned by all company drivers, who refused to use it again.
