St Ives Bay, St Ives

St Ives Bay is reportedly haunted by phantom sounds of bells and occasional sightings of a ghostly ship firing distress rockets, which vanishes when rescuers approach. This apparition has been linked to the historical sinking of a ship named Neptune from London, lost precisely where the phantom vessel disappears. Another reported apparition is a spectral woman seen searching the shoreline during storms; according to local legend, she represents a grieving mother whose baby was tragically swept away during a shipwreck, and whose spirit was said to have been seen drifting out to sea following her funeral.
