Opened in 1963 within the old Hippodrome Theatre, Studio 1 quickly gained a reputation for unexplained disturbances. Staff and patrons reported footsteps, cold spots, and malfunctioning projectors. Séances were held, but no spirit identified itself. The haunting was later linked to Edward Hargreaves, a former owner’s son who took his life. The building was demolished in 1987.
