The Bridge pub on Chestergate was reportedly haunted by a woman in black seen sitting in the bar after hours. In 1988, landlady Beryl Owen described unexplained footsteps descending into the cellar while she worked alone, though no one was found. The pub is historically significant as the first to be supplied with beer by Robinson’s Brewery.
