A skull long kept at Tunstead Farm was said to be that of a murdered man named Dickie, whose ghost reportedly haunted the property for centuries. Known for violent poltergeist activity when moved, the skull was blamed for collapsed railway works nearby, livestock deaths, and unearthly noises. Despite attempts to bury or relocate it, locals claimed the disturbances only ceased once the skull was returned. While some believed the remains belonged to a young woman, the legend of “Dickie” became firmly rooted in local folklore.
