Ewloe Castle, Deeside

Ewloe Castle, hidden deep within Wepre Park’s woods, is said to be haunted by a glowing female figure who climbs the Welsh Tower during thunderstorms, singing in an unearthly voice. Strange lights have also been reported around the ruins, and in one case, witnesses claimed to hear the sound of drumming and marching near the castle, despite no one being visible. These sounds have been linked by some to the 13th-century battles fought at the site during the Welsh-English conflicts.
