Former RAF Barracks, Manchester Airport

In 1971, staff at freight company C. Claridge & Co, based in a former RAF 613 Squadron barracks at Manchester Airport, reported frequent sightings of a ghostly old man. Cleaners, office workers, a police officer, and a lorry driver all witnessed the apparition, which was often accompanied by footsteps, screams, and moving equipment. One clerk saw the figure sitting in a storeroom, but it vanished when he entered. The ghost was later seen walking barefoot through the offices, and activity was thought to continue intermittently in the years that followed.
