Pont-y-Glyn, a bridge in the wooded gorge between Corwen and Cerrig-y-Drudion, is associated with reports of ghosts said to be the spirits of people murdered in the glen. One late-night traveller described seeing a silent woman in traditional Welsh dress who rose from a heap of stones and grew in size as she moved down the road. Nearby hills are linked to further folklore, including the Ystrad Fawr Ghost, a shape-shifting spirit said to appear as a turkey, burning trees, or a large black dog.
