The Boggart House, Stockport

Once feared by locals, the “Boggart House” on Adswood Lane was demolished in the 1860s. Its sinister reputation stemmed from a supposed family murder long concealed: a father killed his son during a quarrel and buried the body beneath the cellar floor. After a deathbed confession exposed the crime, the house became notorious as a haunted site.
