The Whins, Nether Haugh

Along The Whins road between Greasbrough and Nether Haugh, drivers have reported seeing a phantom woman who calmly steps into the path of their cars. Witnesses brake hard, certain they have hit her, yet when they stop there is no sign of a body, no damage, and no trace of impact. Police called to the scene have found only skid marks. Sightings have continued since the 1980s, but her identity remains unknown. Locals call her the Whins Woman, a ghostly figure whose silent appearances have frightened many motorists but caused no harm.
