Yhelt Cottage, Buxton

A ghostly nun is said to haunt Yhelt Cottage, a sixteenth-century house near Buxton thought to stand close to the site of an old nunnery. Strange rosy lights have been seen in one of the bedrooms, and in 1953 the owners reportedly witnessed the figure of a young nun surrounded by a bright, unearthly glow. She appeared to be around twenty-eight years old and strikingly beautiful, but vanished as suddenly as she appeared.
