The Gloddaeth Ghost, Llandudno

While hunting foxes in Gloddaeth Wood, Thomas Davies of Rhyl heard dreadful cries of “Oh, oh!” drifting from the nearby sea. The sounds drew closer through the dark until a naked, fiery-eyed figure appeared only yards from his tree. Frozen with terror, Davies dared not move or fire his gun as the creature crouched and stared at him through the night. Only when a cock crowed at dawn did the glowing eyes vanish. The entity was never identified, but the tale remains one of the most chilling in Welsh folklore.
