A village on the edge of the Peak District where Cheshire meets the high moorland, Disley is best known as the gateway to Lyme Park, one of the largest country houses in the north of England. Both the hall and its grounds carry well-established ghost traditions, and the village itself has produced at least one further account of a haunted building.
