Farndon or Holt Bridge
The medieval bridge linking Farndon in England with Holt in Wales is said to be haunted by the spirits of two drowned children. According to local tradition, these were the sons of Prince Madoc, entrusted to the care of Roger Mortimer and the Earl of Warren. Their guardians, perhaps seeing the boys as inconvenient heirs, allegedly threw them from the bridge into the River Dee. Their cries are said to echo beneath the arches during storms.
