Tatton Park, Knutsford

Tatton Park, the Egerton family’s grand estate north of Knutsford, is said to be haunted by a “lady in blue,” thought to be Elizabeth Egerton. Maurice Egerton claimed to have seen and spoken with her both inside the house and in the gardens. In 1981, staff reported strange electrical disturbances that occurred nightly at 9:20 p.m., along with the sighting of a man in a sports coat who vanished into a bathroom.
