The Eyre Arms, Hassop

The Eyre Arms, a 17th-century inn of oak beams and stone walls, is said to be haunted by a Civil War Cavalier slain on its old staircase after a desperate fight with Roundheads. His ghost is sometimes glimpsed behind the bar, where the staircase once stood and his life ended.
