Throwley Old Hall, Calton
The 300-year-old ruins of Throwley Old Hall, once home to the Cathcart family, are said to be haunted by two spirits. Travellers approaching the hall may meet a golden-haired boy who tearfully asks for directions home to Throwley before vanishing. Near the remains of the chapel on the west side, a headless woman is said to appear at midnight, terrifying anyone who passes. One witness claimed she was followed for a mile down the valley.
