In 1968, Hyde Lads Club was reportedly haunted by the sound of billiard balls clicking in an empty upstairs room. The club leader, Andre Davis, and his wife described nightly crashes followed by the sound of a game being played. Davis once claimed to see an old man playing alone who vanished when he turned away. A clock dedicated to a former club leader, said to have died while playing billiards, was repeatedly found running backwards after the disturbances.
